On 12-01-2022 at approximately 1808 hours, officers responded to 6438 Paseo on a medical/check the welfare call for service. Upon arrival, the fire department forced the door and the victim was discovered inside the residence with apparent gunshot injuries.

On 12/01/2022 at approximately 2110 hours, officers responded to 3228 Lockridge Ave on a reported shooting call for service. Upon arrival, officers located the victim inside the residence suffering from apparent gunshot injuries.

On 11-21-2022 at approximately 0013 hours, officers responded to the area of 3515 Virginia on a Shot Spotter activation. As the officers moved into the area, they were contacted by a uniformed security guard who stated a shooting had occurred at 1328 Armour Blvd. Officers located the victim lying in a common area of the aforementioned apartment complex suffering from apparent gunshot injuries.

On 10-30-2022 at 1942 hours, Officers were dispatched to 9307 Bales Ave. on a reported shooting. Upon arrival, they located the victim deceased from gunshot wounds. During the investigation, it was determined the shooting was the result of an argument in the parking lot of the apartment complex over a vehicle.

On 10-30-2022 at 1041 hours, Officers were dispatched to 5627 Paloma Ave. on a reported dead body in the backyard. Upon arrival, they contacted the 911 caller who stated his dog was digging in the backyard and uncovered a body. An investigation of the crime scene revealed a decomposed female buried in a shallow grave in the backyard.

10-23-2022 at 3228 Quincy Drive

Officers were dispatched on a sound of shots which was updated to a shooting. Upon arrival, Officers located the victim at the bottom of an apartment building stairway suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The victim was declared deceased at the scene. Witnesses related the victim had received a telephone call; at which time, he left the apartment and went outside. Several gunshots were later heard outside of the apartment building followed by a vehicle fleeing the scene.

On 10-21-2022, at 1237 hours, Officers were dispatched to the location in regard to a shooting. Upon arrival, Officers located the victim inside the vehicle suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Witnesses observed a gray Charger chasing the white Camry the victim was occupying along I-70 East prior to the shooting. They heard several gunshots and observed the victim's vehicle strike the highway barricade and then come to rest at the location. The victim was later pronounced deceased at an area hospital.

On 10-17-2022, at 0230 hours, KCFD was dispatched to a fire at 918 South Benton. They found a male inside the residence who was transported to an area hospital where he later died of his injuries. The Bomb and Arson Section determined the fire will be ruled an Arson.

On 10-15-2022, at 0716 hours, Officers were dispatched to the area of 7001 E. 113^th Street in regard to a sound of shots call for service. Upon arrival, Officers located the victim lying in the street suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene by EMS.

On 10-14-2022 at 1936 hours, Officers were dispatched to the location in regard to a shooting. Upon arrival, Officers located the victim lying on the ground in the yard of 8016 Wayne. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Victims: Deshawn L. Dudley B/M 09-23-1995, Dondre D. Hart B/M 08-26-2002

On 09-05-2022 at 2239 hours, officers were dispatched to 7320 Manchester Ave. on a reported shooting. Upon arrival, they found multiple people shot. The two listed victims were pronounced deceased at the scene. During the investigation, it was determined that there was a large pool party in the rear of the residence when two suspects fired multiple gunshots over a fence in to the crowd.

On 09/20/2022 at 1810 hours, officers of the Kansas City Missouri Police Department were dispatched to the area of 35th and Kensington Ave on a reported sound of shots. Upon arrival in the area they were directed to the address 3642 Cypress Ave and were advised a female victim had been struck and was transported by family to an area hospital by private conveyance. The female victim, Loretta Neal, was declared deceased at the hospital as a result of her injuries. The victim was working in her kitchen and was not the intended target of gunfire.

On 09-18-2022 at approximately 2123 hours, officers of the Kansas City Missouri Police Department were dispatched to 2931 Wabash Ave Kansas City, Jackson County, MO in regard to a KCFD-EMS call. Upon arrival officers were directed into apartment 1S where they located a male victim, Charles Bass, suffering from an apparent gun shot wound.  The victim was helping the renter of the apartment move.

At 8:05 p.m. Aug. 27, 2020, officers were dispatched to 4656 Prospect on a reported shooting. Upon arrival, they located the victim inside the his vehicle in the street across from the Conoco. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased. At 8:01 p.m. Aug. 25, officers responded to Guinotte and N. Montgall on a sounds of shots call. Upon arrival, the two victims were located inside a vehicle. The victim, Montez Blake, was homeless and staying in the area of Belvidere Park. In the early morning hours of Aug. 13, 2020, officers were dispatched to Independence Ave./Paseo in regard to a shooting. Upon arrival, the officers discovered Blake’s body in the field northwest of the intersection. Officers were dispatched to 34^th and Indiana at 1:38 a.m. July 26, 2020, on a reported medical call. Upon their arrival, the victim was found obviously deceased. Officers were dispatched on July 05, 2020 to 6227 E 16th Terrace at 10:43 p.m., in regard to a reported shooting. Officers located the victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The victim was transported from the scene to an area hospital where he died of his injuries.

At 4:50 p.m. June 24, 2020, the victim was sitting on his front porch at 4448 Paseo when unknown black male suspects shot him and fled the area on foot. Anyone with information in regard to this case are encouraged to contact the Homicide Unit of the Kansas City Missouri Police Department, 816-234-5043 or the TIPS Hotline.

The victim, Paul Garcia, was a 50-year-old male who had just gotten home from a doctor’s appointment. He was lying on the couch with his grandchildren when he was struck with a rifle round that entered his home at 1609 Elmwood. Outside the victim’s home, the suspects in the shooting were targeting someone on foot who ultimately got away and was uninjured. The intended target of the shooting has been identified but has not been cooperative with the investigation. Paul had lived at the home for 30 years with his wife. 

Officers were dispatched on May 13th, 2020 at 11:03p.m., to 3522 E 6th St in regard to a reported sound of shots. While in route to the location the call was updated to a reported shooting. Officers located the victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.  The victim was transported from the scene to an area hospital where he died of his injuries.

Officers were dispatched on May 12th, 2020 to 612 Elmwood at 10:38 p.m., in regard to a reported sound of shots.  Officers located the victims suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.  Both victims died at the scene.

On May 4, 2020, at 5:22 p.m., officers were dispatched to 500 E 3rd on a reported shooting.

Upon arrival, they located the victim, Charles Shirley deceased in a vehicle in the circle drive of the apartment complex. There was a second suspect standing by not far away as a "look out." The males then fled on foot. Police have video of the suspects.

At 12:36 a.m. April 30, 2020, officers were dispatched to 8322 Hillcrest on a reported sound of shots. Upon arrival, they located the victim in the parking lot of the apartment complex. Officers were dispatched on March 3rd, 2020 to 2729 Park in regard to a reported shooting. Officers located the victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he died of her injuries.

Officers were dispatched on a shooting on Feb. 15 at 1027 E. 9th St. Upon their arrival, a Anthony Rice was found suffering from a gunshot wound to his head. He was transported to an area hospital and pronounced deceased. A witness stated several people were struggling with the victim. Officers were dispatched on February 2nd, 2020 at 10:10p.m., to 4910 E 31st St in regard to a reported cutting. Officers located the victim suffering from apparent physical trauma. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he died of his injuries.

Officers were dispatched on January 28th, 2020 at 12:23a.m., to 414 Denver in regard to a reported sound of shots. Officers located the victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he died of his injuries.

At 12:18 a.m. Jan. 13, 2020, officers were dispatched to 2722 Benton Blvd. on a reported disturbance. While en route, it was updated to a shooting. Upon arrival, officers were directed to 2720 Benton Blvd., where they located the victim unresponsive in the entryway of the apartment complex. On Jan. 10, 2020, the victim, Tina Moore (AKA Fatty) was shot to death in her home at 2435 Kensington Ave.

The suspect(s) apparently entered the residence, killed the victim then fled the area.

On 07-11-2019 at 0529 hours, officers were dispatched to E 63^rd Street/South Benton Avenue on a reported dead body. Upon arrival, officers contacted the calling party, a pedestrian who had come upon a body while walking down the sidewalk. It was determined that the victim, Marcus Warren, had suffered multiple gunshot wounds several hours earlier.

On 7/16/2019, at approximately 2241 hours, in the area of 81^st and Blue Ridge Blvd, Hatcher was shot and killed while he was seated in the front passenger seat of a vehicle travelling on Blue Ridge Blvd.

On 03/27/2019 at approximately 0323 hours, Officers were dispatched to a party down in the street at 69^th Terrace / The Paseo.

Upon arrival the officers discovered the victim lying in the street, near the northeast portion of the intersection suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

On 12-8-2018 at 0035 hours Officers were dispatched at 0035 hours on a medical nature unknown to 2901 Monroe, which was updated to 2943 Monroe. Officers determined the scene to be a house at 2945 Monroe. Inside they discovered two dead bodies, one male and one female. The Medical Examiner ruled the deaths homicides.

On 10/5/2018 at 0147 hours Officers were dispatched on a Shotspotter call and arrived to find a deceased adult male lying prone on the east side of the sidewalk in front of 4325 Troost. He appeared to have been shot. Several other shots fired calls came in after the initial Shotspotter call, which recorded one gunshot. Area canvas revealed several surveillance cameras but additional information is needed.

Jaquon was visiting a friend at the listed address when a vehicle drove down the street and began shooting at him. Jaquon died on 9/21/18 from his injuries.

On 8/16/2018 at 2229 hours officer were dispatched to I-470 and Raytown Rd on a shooting. They canvassed and located the victim at I-470 and View High. Lee's Summit Fire/EMS were first at the scene and transported the victim to Research Hospital. The victim was declared deceased at the hospital.

On 8/14/2018 at approximately 2353 hours officers were dispatched to 3543 Prospect in regard to a Shotspotter call. The call was later updated to a shooting. Upon officer arrival they located the victim in the northbound lanes of traffic. EMS responded and declared the victim deceased.

Homicide occurred 08-04-2018 @ 2338 hrs

4909 E 39^th Pl Jackson Co, KCMO

Witness heard several gunshots before leaving his residence and observing a male lying beside a vehicle unconscious. Officers arrived and the victim was transported to the hospital where he died from his injuries.

Another witness was contacted who was with the victim when the shooting occurred. The witness stated she planned to meet the victim to buy some marijuana. She borrowed a tan SUV from her friend and she drove to the cul de sac and waited for the victim. When the victim arrived, he parked in front of the SUV and got into the passenger side of the SUV.

Two unknown black male suspects approached the vehicle. Suspect #2 had a gun and told them to get out of the vehicle. They took $40 from the witness and she took off running and called 911. As she was running she heard gunshots.

On 8/2/2018 at 1615 hours, the 1010 Squad responded to 18th and Prospect in regard to a homicide. One deceased male was located at the scene and a second living victim was transported to the hospital with critical injuries. The actual shooting scene was located at 22nd and Walrond.

Occurred: 07/23/2018, 0220 hours @ 1326 E. 89th Shanterria was sitting inside her vehicle when the suspect began shooting into the vehicle. Shanterria was struck by gunfire and died at the scene.

On 6-23-2018 at approximately 0049 hours officers were in the area of Linwood and Agnes on a shots fired call when an officer observed a black vehicle southbound on Agnes at Linwood. Officers located a deceased black male in the rear of 3108 East Linwood, a vacant residence. The suspect(s) fled the scene in an unknown direction by unknown means.

On 6-13-2018 at approximately 1752 hours Officers were dispatched to 5904 E. 40th Terr. on a reported shooting. At this location the officers were flagged down by a witness who directed the officers to a party who appeared to be suffering from a gunshot wound. The subject was declared deceased by medical personnel.

On 05/27/2018 at 0203 hours Officers with the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department were dispatched to Blue Parkway and Coal Mine Road (4721 Coal Mine Road), in regard to a shooting. Upon arrival, officers observed a male performing CPR on a victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Officers then took over performing life saving measures until KCFD EMS arrived. The victim was transported to Truman Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.

Charles Wofford B/M 02-12-1961

Officers were dispatched to 5200 Lawn in regard to EMS enroute. Upon arrival they contacted the reporting party who stated he had come by to check on the victim like he does everyday and saw the garage door open. He called out the victim's name but got no answer. He opened the door from the garage into the house and saw the victim lying motionless on the floor. He checked his vitals and called 911. It was determined the victim had multiple gunshot wounds.

On 05/25/2018 at 1542 hours, Officers were dispatched to 4616 E. 44th St. on reported sound of shots. Upon arrival Officers located Donnell Louis sitting in the front seat of his vehicle with an apparent gunshot wound. Louis was pronounced deceased at the scene. Additional victims that were in the vehicle with Louis during the shooting, stated a group of black males were shooting at them at the corner of 44th Terr and Lawn Ave.

On 4-24-2018 at 0830 hours, Officers were dispatched to 9th and Brooklyn in regard to a shooting. The officers located the victim at the location suffering from a gunshot wound. On 4/19/2018 at 0436 hours, officers responded to a call for EMS at 36/Park. Upon arrival officer observed a black female identified as Kylie Cubie, B/F, 12/7/1978 deceased on the south sidewalk. The officer observed a significant amount of blood from the area of the victim's head. EMS arrived and declared the victim deceased.

At 0304 hours, Officers were dispatched to meet Jackson County Deputies on a shooting at 39 and Main. Upon arrival a black male victim identified as Taron Carson, BM, 5/12/93, was located near a bench on the southwest corner of the intersection. He had been shot and later died at a hospital.

Brandon D. Davis B/M, 2/2/1982

On 3/2/2018 at 2203 hours Officers were dispatched to 5116 Paseo in regard to sound of shots. En route the call was updated to additional shots fired. The officers were advised soon after arriving about a shooting victim who arrived at Research Medical Center in the victim’s vehicle, a black BMW driven by the victim’s cousin. The victim was attended to by medical personnel and later pronounced deceased.

On 01/24/2018 at 2004 hours officers were dispatched to 2312 Monroe Ave. in regard to a shooting. Upon arrival they observed the front door of the residence open and the victim, Lashonda Myers, lying deceased from apparent gunshot wounds, in the entryway. The victim’s juvenile child was located inside the residence.

The victim was found beside a house with multiple gunshots.The victim arrived in a white Ford Explorer and was approached by two unknown suspects.  It is unknown who the victim was meeting at the time of his death.

Occurred: 12/14/2017, 109 E. 40th St. at 2346 hours

On December 14, 2017, the victim and a friend were walking home from Westport when they were approached by the suspect who pointed a gun at the victims and demanded their money. They were complying when the suspect (a black male) fired the gun, killing the victim. The suspect was with at least one other person and seen fleeing the scene in the above vehicle. The vehicle is a stolen auto.

On 11/12/2017 at approximately 1606 hours, officers of the Kansas City Missouri Police Department were dispatched to Research Medical Center located at 2316 E Meyer Boulevard, Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri in regard to a shooting. Upon arrival, officers discovered that multiple victims had arrived in a white Dodge Charger. The victim was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and died shortly after arrival to the hospital. The death is being investigated as a homicide.

On 10/26/2017 at approximately 1756 hours Officers were dispatched to 2218 E. 69th Terr. in regard to a shooting. At this location the officers located the victim, Christopher Shaver, in the street suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead. A surviving victim was transported to and area hospital for treatment of injuries. Suspect vehicle was described as a black vehicle.

On 10/25/2017 at 2154 hours, Officers were dispatched to 45th and Elmwood on a reported shooting. Upon arrival Officers located Dajanna Haislip lying in the street with an apparent gunshot wound. Haislip was transported to a local hospital where she later died as a result of her injuries. Additional victims that were at the scene and uninjured provided information that there were two black male suspects who were shooting at them, and then fled the scene in vehicles.

Family members of a missing person were at the scene and gave us the name of Carrie Blewett. We were able to identify the deceased person as Carrie Blewett who had been missing since July 2017. On 7/20/17 at approximately 1735 hours, members of the Kansas City Missouri Police Department were dispatched to 28th and Walrond in regard to a shooting. Upon arrival a b/m was observed inside a vehicle parked on the southwest corner of 28th and Walrond . The male had apparent life threatening gunshot wounds. EMS transported the victim to an area hospital but was pronounced deceased at 1821 hours.

On 7-10-2017 at approximately 0055 hours Officers responded to 4351 Blue parkway in regard to a shooting. A vehicle traveling eastbound wrecked into the steps in front of the Burger King. On 5/12/2017 at 1612 hours Patrol Officers responded to 54th and Park in regard to a shooting. Information was received from an off duty officer three victims had responded to Research Medical Center with gunshot wounds. The juvenile victim, Marcus Haislip, and other occupants of the car were shot as they drove through the area. Marcus Haislip III died from his injuries. On 06-09-2017, officers responded to 115 NW Harlem Rd #273 where they found victim deceased from a gunshot wound to the head. The witness, mother of the victim, stated someone entered her apartment, attempted to rob her when her daughter, who was sleeping on the floor, stood up and was shot by a black male suspect. Officers arrived on scene at about 2140 hours on a reported shooting. Upon arrival, officers entered the apartment and found two deceased victims, Victoria C. Brown and Darrell E. Thomas. Ali R. Brown was transported to a hospital and later died from her injuries. An adult female and juvenile male were found alive but suffering from gunshot wounds. On 1/10/2017 at 2046 hours Officers were dispatched to 12 and Paseo on a reported shooting. Upon arrival they observed a black vehicle with the passenger side-door open, engine running and facing northbound. The victim, Donald Coty Jr., was located in the driver's seat and appeared to have been shot. He died at the scene. The victim responded to the address with a female subject. The victim had also communicated with a second female subject who responded to the location to obtain money from the victim. While at the scene the victim contacted a friend and they talked. The victim and the friend conversed and the while they conversed they were contacted by the suspect. The suspect began shooting, striking the victim multiple times. The suspect fled the scene. Witnesses described the suspect as a black male wearing a black hoodie.

They were also advised a shooting victim had been transported to a local hospital with a gunshot wound. The shooting victim was taken by private vehicle to Research Hospital where she died from her injuries.

Officers were dispatched to 3235 S. Benton in regard to a drive-by shooting. At this location officers were directed to the homicide victim who was on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers attempted to perform CPR and the victim was eventually transported to Truman Medical Center (TMC) where he was pronounced deceased at approximately 1850 hours. Witnesses advised the suspects fled east on Linwood from S. Benton in a grey or blue, 2000 model SUV.

The victim was a well-liked businessman in the neighborhood. The victim was last seen leaving his business, The Green Duck, located at 26th and Prospect.

On 09-29-2012, Officers observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed in the area of 18th and Campbell. When Officers stopped the vehicle they were advised that Krystal Robinson was shot. Krystal was transported to an area hospital where she died from an apparent gunshot wound. It was determined that the shooting originally occurred at the intersection of Linwood and Van Brunt. On 09-12-2012 at approximately 1420 hours, officers were dispatched to 40th & Wabash on a shooting. The victim was located lying in the southwest corner suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he later died of his injuries. The victim had been walking in the area when he was approached by a black Chevy Monte Carlo. The occupant(s) began shooting at the victim from inside the vehicle. The Monte Carlo then fled the scene east on 40th Street, from Wabash.

On September 10th, 2012, at approximately 1:45 PM officers were sent to 4004 E 56th Terrace. When they arrived in the area officers located two male victims suffering from apparent gunshot wounds in a grey Buick four door vehicle. Both victims were transported to area hospitals where they were admitted for treatment of their injuries. One of the victims, James Bradley-Piseno, died from his injuries on September 14th, 2012. Occurred: 09-09-2012, 1710 hours at 4906 Garfield On 09-09-2012 at approximately 1714 hours, Officers were dispatched to 4906 Garfield on a reported outside disturbance sound of shots. Upon arrival they discovered the victim deceased from apparent gunshot wounds inside a vehicle. Three juvenile girls were also inside the vehicle at the time of the shooting. One of the girls received a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

On 08/16/2012 at 2124 hours, the victim was in front of his residence talking on his cellular telephone giving the party on the phone directions to his location. Information gained from witnesses stating the victim was waving over a vehicle, apparently the subject he was speaking to on the phone. The witnesses stated a dark color (4) door vehicle stopped in front of the victim’s location and the victim approached the passenger side of the vehicle. The witnesses stated the victim was apparently having a conversation with the suspects in the vehicle when shots were fired and the victim was hit.

On May 19, 2012, at 1:19 a.m., Marcus Heilderberg was murdered outside the Retro Bar at 1518 McGee. There had been a disturbance inside the bar that spilled out to the sidewalk and street in front of the bar. Marcus was shot and later died of his injuries at a hospital. On 4/8/2012 (Easter Sunday), at 0148 hours, officers were dispatched on a shooting at 4001 Mill St. Officers responded and discovered the victim lying in the Sun Fresh Market parking lot suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was transported to an area hospital, but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

Information has been developed that a 2010 – 2012 Chevrolet Equinox (similar to the one pictured above) was seen leaving the area after the shooting.

He got into some type of argument with two occupants of a black sport utility vehicle. One of the suspects shot the victim, who ran into the park and collapsed. The black vehicle left the scene southbound on Denver Avenue.

On 02/14/2012 at 2222 hours, KCMO PD Officers responded to the Blue Valley Market at 4300 Cleveland Ave in regard to the sound of gunfire. The victim walked outside his residence to warm up his vehicle when unknown suspects began shooting at him. The victim was able to run toward the back of the residence where the suspect’s followed continuing to shoot.

On 03/31/2009 at 1250 hours officers were dispatched to 6407 Manchester Ave in regard to a suspicious vehicle and a party armed. Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim in the stairwell on the west side of the building. The victim, Ahmed Johnson, had been shot. He died at the scene.

On January 6, 2008, Kansas City Missouri Police Officers were sent to 2716 Grove regarding a disturbance.

Upon arrival officers found that Eric L. Davis, 35, and Rosalind D. Dawson, 45, had been shot. Rosalind was declared dead at the scene. Eric was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries. Eric was eventually transferred to an extended care facility. Eric never recovered from his injuries, and he eventually died on April 6, 2009, from complications related to the shooting. The Jackson County Medical Examiner ruled Eric’s death a homicide on January 14, 2010.

The victim, age 21, and his friend were on foot at 39th and Broadway near the Westport entertainment district when they were caught in the crossfire of rival gang members shooting at each other from various vehicles at about 3:20 a.m. May 20, 2007. The victim sustained a gunshot wound during the shooting and subsequently died from his injury. The victim was an innocent bystander who lost his life to gang violence.

There is a $30,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in this case.

On May 31, 2003, at 7:13 a.m., police officers and the fire department were dispatched to a car fire at 1101 Guinotte. When fire fighters arrived on the scene, they reported that they had found the vehicle, a 1992 Acura Legend, on fire and that there was a body inside. The charred body was that of 27-year-old Bao N. Luu. His death was later ruled a homicide.

On April 26, 2002, at 1:53 p.m., officers were dispatched to a domestic disturbance assault call at 5400 Tracy.  When officers arrived they found one victim who was alive, sitting on the living room floor covered in blood. The second victim, who was identified as 41-year-old John Hees, was located in the second-floor southwest bedroom lying face down on the floor in a large pool of blood. Mr. Hees was pronounced dead at the scene. It was later determined the crime was an apparent residential robbery.

On December 30, 2002, at 8 a.m., the body of 23-year-old Adrian Harrison was discovered in a small abandoned building in the parking lot at 11th and Elmwood. Harrison’s death was later ruled a homicide.

Two black male suspects walked into the 7-Eleven at 319 E. 63rd St. sometime between 1:30 and 2:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 10, 2000, and opened fire on the clerk Caroline Neal. Neal, 58, died at the scene. Neal was a wife, mother and grandmother who took the part-time job that July to earn a little extra money. She lived in the Brookside area near the store. Police believe that a store manager at that 7-Eleven had previously kicked the suspects out of the store for shoplifting. The men returned and were in the store less than 20 seconds. The gunmen did not rob the store.

On November 13, 1999, at 6:47 p.m., officers were dispatched to a reported shooting at 935 W. 24th Street.  When they arrived, they located the victim, Salvador Chavez, lying on the sidewalk on the west side of Belleview, just south of 24th Street.  Mr. Chavez had suffered an apparent gunshot and was pronounced dead at the scene.

During the morning of May 3, 1997, Todd Siemens, an armed security guard for a local security company, was working at the Taqueria Mexico Restaurant at 910 SW. Blvd. Shortly before 4 a.m., Siemens became involved in a disturbance with a Hispanic male in front of the restaurant, after the restaurant refused to sell him anymore liquor because they were closed. A physical confrontation ensued in which the Hispanic male disarmed Siemens of his handgun and shot him several times, and then fled the scene with the weapon.  Police found Siemens lying in the street suffering from several gunshot wounds. He was rushed to an area hospital, where he later died.Witnesses reported that a short time after the murder, the suspect got on a Santa Fe Railroad train near the area where the murder occurred, and headed eastbound out of Kansas City. 

The suspect told witnesses that he needed to get out of town and was possibly heading to Texas, or possibly to his home state of Chihuahua, Mexico. The suspect may also have ties to Juarez, Mexico. The suspect is reported to be a Hispanic male, 5’6″ to 5’8″, 180 pound, stocky, 22 to 30 years of age (at the time of the crime), short black hair, and medium to dark complexion. He has a tattoo on the right inner forearm area, possibly a grim reaper with a scythe, and a tattoo on the left upper arm near the shoulder of the initials”R.M.P” or “M.R.P.”  The suspect also is described as having numerous, large, visible scars on his right arm, probably cuts.  The suspect reportedly only spoke Spanish and was only known by the names of “Morgan,” “Nelson,” and “Mortal Combat.” The suspect had apparently only been in the Kansas City, Missouri, area for approximately one month before the murder occurred and worked for a short time at a small, nearby, Mexican business near the scene of the murder.

Alice Cramer, 47, and her friend Donald Watson, 57, were discovered murdered in Alice’s home at 13401 Charlotte St. on October 24, 1996.

On October 18, 1994, at 4:36 a.m., officers were dispatched to a disturbance call in the courtyard of an apartment buildiing at 3744 Warwick. When officers arrived, they discovered the bloodied body of Twila Harris lying just inside an open door of apartment number one. The officers called for an ambulance and checked the interior of the apartment but found no one else. Ms. Harris was pronounced dead at the scene, suffering from apparent stab wounds. Witnesses reported hearing a female screaming for help.The victim was later identified as 26-year-old Twila Harris. A male was seen running away from the scene toward 38th and Walnut, but no other information was developed.

On January 14, 1994, at about 12:30 p.m., utility workers discovered the body of Kimberly Cowhick in a field thick with brush and weeds in an area south of N. 72nd and North Brighton. It was determined by the Medical Examiner that the victim’s body could have been in the field for some time and that she had died of a gunshot wound.

Ms. Cowhick was last seen alive on November 28, 1993, by her boyfriend when she left a motel near Independence Avenue and Paseo to walk to a nearby store. She never returned. The victim was a known prostitute who frequented the areas of 18th and Main and Independence Avenue, and her murder might have been in connection to prostitution.

The 30-year-old victim was last seen the night of April 14, 1990, or the morning of April 15, 1990. Her body was discovered about 1 p.m. on April 19, 1990, north of 4220 N.E. Birmingham Rd. on old 210 Highway. It was off a closed road in a remote area near woods. Ms. Baker was known to frequent several bars in the North Kansas City area: Helen’s on 210 Highway, Marcy’s on Vivion Road and the Depot in Avondale, Missouri. She was last seen at one of these bars prior to her disappearance. While they don’t know for sure, police think the victim might have encountered the suspect at one of the bars. The suspect then murdered her and dumped her body at the location where she was discovered.

On  December 4, 1985, at 10:49 p.m., officers were dispatched to a robbery call at the Pizza Hut located at 7510 E. 87th Street. When they arrived on the scene, the officers found Brett Kreglo lying on the floor of the Pizza Hut’s entry foyer, located just inside the east side of the business. He was pronounced dead.  Mr. Kreglo, who was a customer, had just entered the business when he was shot by one of the robbery suspects.

After she did not return home, her mother became concerned and started contacting family and friends trying to find anyone that had her.

At 9 a.m. the next morning, June 25, 1983, the victim’s body was discovered near 2000 E. 22nd Street, hidden in the brush of a semi-secluded area not far from her home.

A couple hunting for crawdads discovered the 26-year-old victim’s body on June 6, 1983, in a ravine near 66th and Paseo. Ms. Jacqueline Davis had no known involvement in criminal activity.She was last seen late in the evening of June 3, 1983, or the early morning hours of June 4, 1983, at a nightclub called The Pink Garter, which was in the area of 39th and Main streets.

The victim, Darrell Prilliman, a 40-year-old, free-lance pilot, was last seen on April 6, 1980, at a bar inside the Holiday Inn Hotel at I-29 and 291 Highway. The victim responded to the bar to meet a man who wanted to hire him for a job flying parts to oil fields in Oklahoma City. The victim arrived at the bar at approximately 7:30 p.m. and met with an individual who identified himself as Pete Peterson. The victim left the bar with subject Peterson and never returned. Subject Peterson returned to the bar at approximately 9 p.m. dressed in different clothing.

The victim’s body was discovered May 4, 1980, in a partially wooded area at N. 108th and Skyview. The cause of death was multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was involved in a highly contested divorce involving custody of his children. The victim’s wife and mother in-law made threats to harm the him. The victim’s vehicle was discovered abandoned in long-term parking lot “E” at KCI Airport on April 8, 1980. A heavy concentration of blood was found on the passenger-side floor of the vehicle.

Allen Ray Thompson was 16 years old on Jan. 2, 1970, and at home with his mother at 3727 Forest. At about 9:45 p.m., two people described as black males in their late teens/early 20s robbed Allen’s mother and shot and killed Allen. Allen attended Westport High School and was involved in the R.O.T.C.
