Below are the votes from the special closed session of the Board of Police Commissioners meeting on May 20, 2017, beginning at 10:12 a.m.:

Mayor James and Commissioner Rader had an excused absence.

Following a motion by Commissioner Wasson-Hunt and a second by Commissioner Brooks, the Board voted to go into closed session to discuss personnel matters. The vote was 3-0 in favor. Following polling, Commissioner Wasson-Hunt voted Aye, Commissioner Brooks voted Aye, and Commissioner Shurin voted Aye.

Following a motion by Commissioner Brooks and a second by Commissioner Wasson-Hunt, the Board voted to raise Chief David Zimmerman’s monthly salary during his time serving as Interim Chief. It is a 25% raise of $2,503 per month, increasing him to $12,515 per month, effective May 20, 2017. The vote was 3-0 in favor. Following polling, Commissioner Brooks voted Aye, Commissioner Wasson-Hunt voted Aye, and Commissioner Shurin voted Aye.

Following a motion by Commissioner Wasson-Hunt and a second by Commissioner Brooks, the Board voted to come out of special closed session and adjourn. The vote was 3-0 in favor. Following polling Commissioner Brooks voted Aye, Commissioner Wasson-Hunt voted Aye, and Commissioner Shurin voted Aye.

The Board adjourned at 10:15 a.m.
