SIGNIFICANT EVENTS FOR THE MONTH OF SEPTEMBER, 2004


 

·        September 5, 2004 – The Homicide Unit initiated the beginning of a two-week investigation, which stemmed from the finding of seven homicide victims.  Terry Blair was identified as a result and arrested.

 

·        September 7, 2004 - President Bush visited the city and spoke at Lee’s Summit High School.

 

·        September 9, 2004 - Chief Richard D. Easley formally retired at a ceremony at the Liberty Memorial Museum Hall.

 

·        September 9, 2004 - Interim Chief Rachel Whipple was sworn in at the Liberty Memorial Museum.

 

·        September 30, 2004 – An awards ceremony was held in the Board Room.  A Special Unit Citation was presented and 10 officers were honored.
