SHOAL CREEK PATROL DIVISION
6801 NE Pleasant Valley Road - intersection of Shoal Creek Parkway and Pleasant Valley Road
Telephone Number:  816-413-3400

Fax Number 816-413-8111

The much anticipated completion of the new Shoal Creek Patrol Division station occurred with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on December 1, 2006.  Chief of Police James Corwin officiated at this event, which was the culmination of years of planning and development and could not have taken place without the support of the citizens of Kansas City.

The tremendous expansion of residential and business areas throughout the Northland dictated the need for more police officers.  Although their new home is now complete, the men and women assigned to Shoal Creek have been hard at work in a temporary facility at the Antioch Mall for nearly two years.  During this time, they’ve created strong relationships with neighborhood and business associations to develop problem-solving strategies that address mutual needs and concerns.

The Shoal Creek Patrol Division covers the eastern half of the Northland and is approximately 75 square miles, with an estimated population of 65,000.  Several areas of importance that fall within the boundaries of Shoal Creek include: Worlds of Fun, Ameristar Casino, the Hunt Midwest Sub-Tropolis, several large retail/dining complexes, such as the Antioch Shopping Center, and those located at I-35 & 152 Highways, and I-35 & Chouteau Trafficway.

There are over 25 jurisdictions in the Northland area, which creates a unique opportunity for interaction and cooperation with adjoining agencies.  Additionally, the vast area in the Northland requires innovative community oriented policing tactics.  Shoal Creek has been successful in establishing high quality police service, while using the smallest contingent of police officers of any patrol division within the city.  This is accomplished by focusing on Community Policing, with an emphasis on customer service.

On behalf of the men and women assigned to Shoal Creek, I invite you to partner with us in creating a safer future for the Northland.
