In addition to the Community Interaction Officer, North Patrol Division also has a full time Crime Analyst.  The duties of the Crime Analyst include tracking crime statistics and identify crime patterns.  The Crime Analyst also prepares monthly crime reports which are presented to the Board of Police Commissioners.  The Crime Analyst works closely with the Community Interaction Officer to provide local businesses and residents statistics for community meetings and presentations.  The Crime Analyst uses advanced computer mapping technology to watch for crime trends, and is often an integral part of the investigation process.
