July 28, 2017, Closed Session Votes

The following votes were held by the Board of Police Commissioners at a closed meeting on July 28, 2017:

Following a motion by Commissioner Rader and a second by Commissioner Garrett, the Board voted to appoint Richard C. Smith as Chief of Police. The vote was 3-2 in favor. Following polling Commissioners Rader, Garrett, and Wasson-Hunt voted Aye, and Commissioner Shurin and Mayor James voted Nay.

Following a motion by Commissioner Garrett and a second by Commissioner Wasson-Hunt the Board voted to set the salary for Richard C. Smith at $150,000. The vote was 5-0 in favor. Following polling Mayor James, and Commissioners Shurin, Rader, Garrett, and Wasson-Hunt voted Aye.

The Board adjourned at 12:10 p.m.
